2023 / 2024

Pete and Liz entered the GWR doubles on 30th July at RWB. They lost all 3 morning round robin games which put them in the Bronze section play off. They won the semi-final but were beaten in the final by a local Wootton Bassett team. Pete, Liz and Charles (Saxons) entered the Sherston festival of boule on July 15th 2023. In the first round they played G&T Belles and won 11-1 (1 st round games to 11 points only). In the second round they played Les Pissoirs and lost 5-13 none of Oh Coche played particularly well after a heavy downpour. Oh well try again next year. Pete, Liz and Charles (Saxons) entered the GWR Triples on 9th July at Cricklade Hotel & Spa, not a good day losing all 3 very close games in the morning round robin and then knocked out in the first round of the afternoon session. Pete and Liz also entered the GWR Mixed doubles on 25th June at Larkhall, Bath. A slightly better day winning 1 of the morning round robin games. Then promptly lost in the first round of the afternoon Silver section knockout stage Pete and Liz entered the GWR over 55’s (Vets) doubles on 17th June at RWB. Not a good day losing all 3 of the morning round robin games. In the Bronze section afternoon playoff round robin they managed one win against local rivals Jan and Phil Weaver from RWB. The Gotherington Invitational doubles competition was held on Sunday 23rd April. 4 Teams entered from Cirencester U3A with “A load of boules” Dave Wright and Jef Wickes coming 21st, “Pheonix Stars” Paul Freke and John Smart coming 19th, “Original Fakes” Tony and Kathy Fakes coming 16th and “Trip Hazard” Pete Chambers and Liz Cosham coming 2nd winning £20 each. Full results HERE The GWR Winter Doubles is running for 2023 / 2024 Pete Chambers (Massif Boules) and Liz Cosham (Massif Boules) from U3A / Saxons were in the same team this year.
